I spent the weekend on the beautiful North Antrim coast assessing candidates from around Northern Ireland.
The 'personal performance' standard was very high and all the candidates showed a wealth of knowledge and experience throughout the two and a half day assessment process.
Thank you to all the candidates, Paul 'Harry' Harrington and Robin Ruddock for approving my final assessment and of course all the paddlers that came along from Causeway Coast Kayak Club to act as students for the candidates.
I will be arranging a 4 Star Surf training and assessments in the near future. If you or your club is interested please get in touch

A 'sign of the times'? Over the years there has been a lot of work done between surfers, kayakers, bodyboarders, waveskiers and the council. providing showers, toilets and an inclusive and respectful attitude in the water. This info sign at whiterocks says it all. Bottom right is former world surf kayak champ Johnny Bingham and bottom left is French waveskier and former European champ Yannick Laousse.
