Like lots of folk I have had my fair share of 'ear issues' over the last few years. Constantly being outside working and playing on the hills, rivers, ocean and surf takes its toll. I've been trying out the 'Sorky' earplugs from French company 'Phonographic' since they arrived a couple of weeks ago.
They are very soft and light rubber and quite small. Inside the rubber is a tiny membrane that allows you to still hear (within reason). The idea is to push them in quite far into the ear so that the little tail is just visable. I've had no water trapped in my ear in weeks and ears have stayed pretty dry. Really good product but slightly more expensive than usual plugs at €39 a pop. However they do come with a metal tube that goes on your keys so that you dont loose them. And could prevent you from having to go under the knife!

Ocean Addicts Coaching & Development week

Untitled from sam jones on Vimeo.

Here is some footage from the recent Ocean Addicts waveski & surf kayak coaching camp. Really good group of people on the course so made it a very enjoyable week. The footage is from sessions where students were working on various skills such as getting air, cut backs and re-entries. Plenty of spills so we know they were trying! Thank you again to everyone involved for making it a great week. Look out for the upcoming feature on kayaksurf.net from their roving reporter Pete Copp who has some quality pictures too!
