BCU - Advanced Surf Safety & Rescue Course

In August I ran the first ASSR course to be run in Ireland. I was being moderated by Glyn Brackenbury of Skern Lodge. Just got the final piece of paper work to tie things up and I will be able to deliver the course myself. Check out the courses page for 2011 dates.

I had some excellent candidates for the course, namely Johnny Bingham, Andy McCMurray, Gerry McGahey and Eoin Halliday. All these guys were doing their BCU 5 star surf training. The ASSR is a pre requisite for 5 star assessment.

Ocean Addicts Coaching & Development week

Here is some footage from the recent Ocean Addicts waveski & surf kayak coaching camp. Really good group of people on the course so made it a very enjoyable week. The footage is from sessions where students were working on various skills such as getting air, cut backs and re-entries. Plenty of spills so we know they were trying!
